Here’s Natalia’s message about the reading for this tuesday. Attatchments dont work on the e-mail list but I’ve put the document up on the blog so you can download it there - radicaltheoryberlin.blogspot.com Andres
From: Natalia Realpe Carrillo
Subject: finally.. Economic Theory
Hi everybody!
First.. I´m sorry I send you this document just today, but last week I
was looking for articles to send to you.. but then I decided to make a
“glossary” of basic concepts, since every article that criticize the
economic assumptions, assumed you knew them already.. and then I had
some technical problems that .. na ja, lange Geschichte..
Thats why .. i want to ask for apologize for this “very simple”
concepts, which although are written for “kids”.. they will be very
useful if we want to talk later about the systems and how do they work…
However, I attached a part from a text from Adam Smith (one of the
famous economists ever) from 1776 who was one of the first people to
describe why economics überhaupt works or exists..
The last part (asymmetric information) is another topic which involves
the “decision making” subject.. although I just paste some general
concepts this field covers, maybe in a future we can go on better
readings to discuss the “sogennante” Human Rationality. I hope that it isn´t that late to send you this document. Its really
very easy to read; I would recommend you to print it and if you have
any question, I will try to answer it on Tuesday evening..
the Adam Smith book is called: The wealth of Nations
the definitions i got from amosweb.com
as you can see, most of the theory is based on “scarcity of resources”
and the need to trade them. about the rational instincts within
economics, are matter of the “decision making” part..
byee! and see you soon Natalia
SYNTHESISER DES DENKENS
Juli 1st, 2009SYNTHESIZER DES DENKENS

MillePlateaux
Arbeitskreis: Schule der Sinne: Für die Vielfalt synthetischer Klangerzeugnisse
Nach Gilles Deleuze und Felix Guattari, den Autoren des Werkes „Tausend Plateaus“ sollte man Denken wie Werkzeug, bzw. Tools verwenden.

“In the metropolitan struggles, the biopolitical strike defines the principle articulation of the attack strategy that the irreconciliated forms-of-life take against the metropolis of command. Today, the refusal of work cannot be other than the refusal to concede pieces of life, fragments of affections and shreds of knowledge to cybernetic capitalism. Today, struggle against capitalism is the direct removal of bodies from exploitation and attacking revenue, guerrilla warfare against gentrification and violent appropriation of the Common, sabotage of the control devices and destabilization of political and social representation. Likewise, and just as direct, is the wild experimentation in the forms-of-life, liberation of affections, construction of communities, inoculation of happiness and dynamic expansion of desires. Just as bodies – in as much singularity as in population – are the target of the biopolitical police and exploitation, it is only starting from the singularity of bodies that every human, biopolitical, general strike against the metropolis starts: it is in the singularity as form-of-life that holds the Ungovernability that resists biopower. Capitalist initiative can be anticipated, at least if diffused singular refusal is accompanied by the decision to build a metropolitan organization of autonomous groups able to bring the rebel forms- of-life to become an insurgent multitude. When singularities rise up as a Common body, the Ungovernable can become revolutionary process.”

You gang:
here’s my part of the reading for the next session - http://k-punk.abstractdynamics.org/archives/005660.html
John, did you have any luck with finding the ‘idiot’ article you mentioned? If you can’t get it in the next few days I suggest we find another text by or about deleuze to read alongside the k-punk article, maybe something from the Brian Massumi book I had last time….
and maybe when we’ve decided both texts Jeroen could do some printing for us?..
